QUALIFICATIONS

1. Applicant must be an active member in good standing- paid dues-in their respective Key Club and must have been a member in good standing for both junior and senior years. In addition, the club needs to be in good standing with Kiwanis International.
2. Applicant must be a graduating senior from either Madison West or Edgewood high school.
3. Applicant must be a college, university, or technical school bound student.
4. Financial need will be a major factor in the decision.
5. Grade point average of applicant must be at least a “B” average or the equivalent to a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
6. Documented 10 hours of volunteer service for Key Club is required

REQUIREMENTS/ATTACHMENTS
Below are additional required items that must be attached to or part of the application form.

1. Provide a list of high school and community activities to which you have contributed (clubs, sports, drama, scouting, church, etc. if applicable). Specify any pertinent details.
2. Provide a list of honors, awards, and/or special recognition received in the past four years (both in and out of school, if applicable) for Key Club. Provide a list specifically of the Key offices/positions you’ve held in the past two years (if applicable).
3. Write an essay (typed, single spaced) on your involvement and leadership experience in Key Club and high school. Use space provided on application form.
4. Provide one letter of recommendation from School Official, Key Club school adviser or guidance counselor. Letters shall be one page, signed, dated, and from individuals not related to the applicant. The letter should cover community service, leadership ability, scholarship, personality, and integrity.
5. Application due by February 15
6. The scholarship committee will review and base recommendations on the following point system:

              Community service- 25 pts
              Extracurricular activities- 15 pts
              Leadership- 15 pts
              Essay- 20 pts
              Need- 25 pts

The leadership scholarship will be awarded annually to an Edgewood College Circle K Club member who exemplify to the highest degree, the basic principles of Kiwanis family caring and sharing in their home, school, and community. The recipient will be of high moral character and should have achieved excellence in all their endeavors.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Applicant must be an active member in good standing in their Circle K Club and must have been a paid member in good standing for their entire sophomore (second) year. The club needs to be in good standing with Circle K International.
2. Applicant must be accepted into their Junior (third) year - enough credits to be considered a junior-at Edgewood.
3. Applicant must continue as an Edgewood student and Circle K member during their entire Junior (third)year to remain eligible.
4. Financial need will be a major factor in the decision.
5. Grade point average of applicant must be at least a “B” average or the equivalent to a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

4. Provide a total of 1 letter of recommendation from either a college official or Circle K Club college adviser. Letters shall be one page, signed, dated, and from individuals not related to the applicant. They should cover Edgewood College community involvement, leadership ability, personality, and integrity.
5. Application must be submitted by February 15
6. The scholarship committee with review and base recommendations on the following point system

              Need- 25 pts

By submitting this application, you grant permission to the Ernie Rothe scholarship selection committee to access any pertinent financial records from Edgewood College. This information will be kept confidential among the selection committee members and used only to determine eligibility. Please note that you will need to submit your FAFSA for the next academic year by March 1 in order to be eligible.
